A multi jet water meter is a type of flow meter that is typically used to measure the amount of water flowing through a pipe and can be used in residential, commercial, and more.

Multi jet water meters get their name from the multiple jets of water that are directed onto the turbine wheel inside the meter. As water flows through the meter, it spins the turbine impeller at a rate proportional to the speed of the water flow. The rotation of the turbine wheel is then transmitted to a mechanical counter which records the amount of water passing through the meter.

This water meter is capable of maintaining accuracy over a wide flow range. This is achieved by using multiple jets that provide a more even distribution of water across the turbine wheel, regardless of flow rate. Additionally, due to their simple design and no moving parts, multi jet water meters are less prone to wear and tear than other types of water meters.

Installation of a multi jet water meter usually involves cutting into the pipe and connecting the meter in series with the water flow. The meter must be installed in an area with sufficient straight pipe lengths upstream and downstream of the meter to ensure accurate readings. After installation, the meter should be checked and calibrated periodically to maintain accuracy.
