With the development of smart water, the market share of single jet water meters is growing. In this paper, combined with the actual use of single jet water meter in the use of common problems and solutions.

During the use of single jet water meter, due to the influence of communication line specification, wiring quality, on-site environment, weather, local mobile network and other factors, different solutions are required for different problems.

In view of the fact that the single jet water meter does not communicate all the time, there are mainly the following phenomena and the possible causes:

1) Communication failure:Damaged artificially, or the signal line of the meter is open circuited;

2) Communication failure of all water meters behind a certain point of the trunk: the trunkbus is damaged, resulting in open circuit of the bus;

3) Communication failure of all water meters under the collector: the collector is powered off, the collector or concentrator antenna is dropped or damaged, the wireless communication between the collector and concentrator is failed due to weather changes or increased obstacles;

4) Communication failure of all water meters under the concentrator: the concentrator is powered off, the GPRS antenna of the concentrator is dropped or damaged, and the built-in flow card is in arrears;

For the above situation of no communication, the following methods can be used:

1) Check the water meter on site to see if it is damaged;

2) Check the trunk for open circuit or short circuit;

3) Test the signal strength between the collector and concentrator on site to see whether the collector and concentrator can communicate normally;

4) Check whether the equipment is powered normally, whether the flow card is in arrears, and whether the downlink antenna and uplink GPRS antenna of the equipment are damaged;

The main reasons for non communication of single jet water meter are as follows:

1)  The contact point between the water meter and the trunk is loose or oxidized;

2) Bad external environment leads to unstable wireless communication between concentrator and collector;

3) Too many bus load meters, bus specifications fail to meet requirements, lines are aging, etc;

4) The local mobile signal is unstable;

For the above situations, the following methods can be used:

1) Deal with loose and oxidized contacts and replace aging lines;

2) Set up a supplementary reading mechanism in the system to copy failed meters for many times, so as to improve the overall success rate of meter reading;

3) The selection of communication bus shall be strictly controlled, and the number of bus load meters shall be less than the single load of equipment;

4) Use a high gain GPRS antenna, or extend the GPRS antenna to a place with strong outdoor mobile network signals.
