Simply put, AMR refers to the one-way transmission of user data to the company. There are two types of AMR systems, walking or driving. The AMR meter is equipped with a short-range radio transmitter.

Public utility personnel collect data by walking or driving past data receivers near the equipment. For example, the driving system means that public utility personnel should be equipped with a dedicated radio receiving vehicle to collect water consumption data. The electricity meter data is collected and transmitted to the database, where the utility company can monitor and analyze usage, solve problems, and charge customers based on actual consumption.
