1. Principle:
The electromagnetic flowmeter uses Faraday's law of induction to detect flow. Inside the electromagnetic flowmeter, there is an electromagnetic coil that generates a magnetic field and an electrode that captures the electromotive force (voltage). Therefore, although it seems that there is nothing in the flow tube of the electromagnetic flowmeter, the flow can be measured.
2. Advantages and disadvantages of electromagnetic flowmeter:
2.1 Advantages:
・Not affected by the temperature, pressure, density or viscosity of the liquid
・It can detect liquids containing contaminants (solids, bubbles)
・No pressure loss
・No moving parts (improved reliability)
2.2 Disadvantages:
・Cannot detect non-conductive gases and liquids.
・A short straight pipe section is required.
