Why is there an error in water meter measurement? How to solve the water meter error？

As a water supply metering instrument, the remote water meter inevitably has some errors. For the water supply management department, in order to ensure the fairness and justice of water supply metering, it is necessary to reduce the error of the remote water meter as much as possible. So how can we reduce the error of the remote water meter?

In the actual water meter measurement and identification work, the following aspects can be considered to minimize the error:

① Calibration device of water meter

The water meter verification device shall be verified by the higher level measurement verification institution within the specified time limit according to the quantity value transmission, and the error of the instantaneous flow meter and standard device shall be corrected. In case of irregular verification, operation or maintenance not in accordance with the verification regulations, resulting in out-of-tolerance of the instantaneous flowmeter and standard, the accuracy of the water meter verification device will be directly affected, thus affecting the error of the water meter verification.

② Strengthen the forced inspection and replacement of water meters

The water meter must be installed and used after the first compulsory verification. Because the accuracy of water meter measurement has certain working time limit and measuring range limit, the water meter should be replaced in time after a certain working time, and it should also be replaced in time beyond a certain measuring range to ensure the accuracy of measurement. The water meter with nominal diameter less than or equal to 50ram and common flow rate less than 16m3/h is only subject to the first compulsory verification, and is used within a time limit, with rotation at the expiration of the time limit. The service life of the water meter with nominal diameter of 25mm and below is generally not more than 6 years; The service life of water meters with nominal diameter greater than 25mm to 50mm shall not exceed 4 years generally; The verification period of water meters with nominal diameter greater than 50mm or common flow greater than 16m3/h is generally 2 years.

③ Standard installation of water meter

The model of water meter shall be reasonably selected, and the caliber of water meter shall be determined according to the use flow close to the common flow. In order to ensure the most accurate measurement, the water meter shall be installed with a long enough straight pipe section, flow control valves and filtration equipment as required; The installation position of the water meter shall ensure that the pipe is full of water, and the bubbles will not be concentrated in the meter. The water meter shall be installed at the highest point of the pipe; The water meter must be installed horizontally. The front and back or left and right tilt will lead to reduced sensitivity and increased error.

④ Use and maintenance of water meter

The use and maintenance of water meter mainly includes regular inspection. Check the water meter components for leakage; Whether the water meter glass is clean and whether it can read normally; Check whether the water meter operates normally, whether it rotates without water, and whether the water meter installed outdoors has cold-proof measures.
